| In Yan Geling's novel The Criminal Lu Yanshi, the narrator makes good use of the dualism and contradiction between the story time and the narrative time, and employs a variety of methods in relation to timing, duration and frequency, thereby establishing the narrative time characterized by elasticity and tension, which improve the narrative art and aesthetic value of the novel and play an important role in construction of the narrative ethics. |
