| 古往今来,对于宋襄公的评价可谓仁者见仁,智者见智,儒家称其“仁义”,法家斥其“愚蠢”。文章从当时的战争性质、地理环境及战车形制入手,对宋、楚两国爆发的泓之战进行新的诠释,并认为宋襄公等待楚军过河后与之交战的目的是为了发挥中原国家车战上的优势,打击楚军在车战方面的劣势,进而赢得战场上的主动地位。宋国之所以失败还是因为国力的弱小,不能将失败的原因全部归结为宋襄公个人能力的不足。 |

From ancient to modern times,there have been different opinions on Duke Xiang of Song.
nfucians describe him as “righteous”while legalists label him as “stupid”.
e author of this article first discusses the nature of the war, the geographical environment and the features of chariots, then interprets the outbreak the Hong Battle between states Song and Chu.
e author argues that the Duke waited for Chu army to cross the river and then fought with them in order to take advantage of his bigger chariots and that the state of Song failed because of its weak national strength, rather than the Duke’s ability. |
