| Based on the study of the British universal aid policy and the unique situation in sub-Saharan Africa, the author of this paper argues that the British aid policy was based on the principle of self-interest, which was beneficial to the development of the recipients only objectively. The British government adjusted its aid policy according to the change of situation and better safeguarded its own interests. |
