| This paper makes an investigation into the identification of the foreigner "La Kai'er" as well as the original source of his motto Li Dazhao quoted in his masterpiece essay On Youth, bringing to light, for the first time, the truth that "La Kai'er" was the renowned writer and poet Friedrich Rückert, a contemporary and counterpart of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in the history of German literature and the motto Li Dazhao quoted was from his poem Erinnerung(Memory) written in 1833 in the language of German. |
