Based on the text of Yuan Ye, the author studies the basic ideas in Chinese garden design and their aesthetic characteristics through the ideas of “harmony with nature” and “appropriate forms”.
e combination between architectural beauty and natural beauty in classical Chinese garden design reflects the aesthetic concept of “ while made by man, beauty is determined by nature” and survival rule of “harmony between nature and human” in Chinese traditional philosophy. |
