晚明沈自徵的杂剧《簪花髻》,通过对嘉靖年间杨慎在流放云南时期放浪形骸、嬉笑怒骂的描写,抒发了包括作者在内的晚明士人怀才不遇、报国无门的彷徨与苦闷。剧中言行不无夸张的杨慎形象,既是某种程度上的历史真实,又投射着包括作者在内的晚明江南文人自身的影像,代表着江南士风在该历史阶段的演进状况。 |

The miscellaneous drama Zan Hua Ji, written by Shen Zizheng(1591-1641)in late Ming Dynasty, depicts Yang Shen’s riotous and satiric behavior when he was banished to Yunnan by Emperor Jiajing and reveals the disappointed and angry feelings of the scholars, including the author himself, because their talents were not appreciated and hence unable to serve the country. e exaggerated image of Yang Shen not only represents the historical authenticity, but also symbolizes the status and ethos of the scholars of Southern Yangtze River area of that historical period. |
