The authors of this paper summarize the general writing characteristics of the papers submitted to emperors by combative writers in the early Southern Song Dynasty.
ese impressive and emotional papers reflected the authors’ opposition to surrender, their appeal to fight back and their faithfulness to the country, the monarchs and the people.
e papers, with their own linguistic style, are quite different from those in the Northern Song Dynasty. |
