| 黄晖等人指出王充、王莽均有孙、王二姓，且同出魏郡元城，乃是同族，然细考《汉书·元后传》《论衡·自纪篇》之记载，详玩汉人传记的通行文法，此说难以成立。诸般史迹表明，王充、王莽分属两个平行发展的独立家族，绝非同宗。王莽的宗姓在东汉一朝备受猜忌，王充对王莽之行事素无好感，《论衡·自纪篇》交待"其先本魏郡元城一姓"仅是陈述事实，并无攀附王莽之意。 |

| Huang Hui and the others pointed out that both Wang Chong and Wang Mang had the family name Sun and Wang, and both came from Yuancheng of Wei County, which shows that they belonged to the same clan. However this conclusion proves to be false after the careful study of the records in Book of Han· Yuanhouzhuang and Lunheng·Zijipian, together with the analysis of common grammar of the biographies in Han Dynasty. All of them indicate that Wang Chong and Wang Mang belong to the parallel different clan. The clan of Wang Mang was suspected even in East Han Dynasty and Wang Chong Held unfavorable opinion toward him. The sentence in Lunheng·Zijipian that his ancestor was from the Yuancheng of Wei Country is used to state a fact, but not to flatter Wang Mang. |
