| The failure of the Revolution of 1911 prompted Chinese people with lofty ideals to explore new ways to save the country. Represented by Li Dazhao, the progressive intellectuals saw the drawbacks emerging in Western capitalism and then turned their attention to the proletarian revolution in Russia, where they began to seek the direction from Marxism and explored the path from Socialism. During this period, Li Dazhao used the novels with lively and complicated plot to spread his revolutionary concept to the mass, in addition to the form of theoretical works. "Two teenagers in the snow" was the representative one for him to express his political ideal during the transitional period of his thought. In this novel, Li Dazhao expounded his conception about the development of the northwest region, which reflected his far-sighted thinking about the future society. This novel can still offer reference to promote the formation of a new pattern of western development in the new era. |
