| The First World War played an important part in Li Dazhao's acceptance of the Marxist doctrine. Li Dazhao became curious about The First World War due to his deep concern about the fate of China. Based on his constant focus on the war and further investigation, he strengthened his faith in democracy, predicted the trend of democratic revolution in the twentieth century, and became interested in the Russian Revolution. Through a careful analysis and serious consideration of the October Revolution, Li Dazhao converted to Marxism. The process of Li Dazhao's ideological change to Marxism can be found through the study of his observation and reflection on The First World War. |
